Solar Teams Shine at Disney's Boys Soccer Showcase

At the recently completed 2009 Disney Soccer Showcase for boys presented by Chelsea Futball Club, Solar teams competed successfully in their respective age groups. Kevin Smith was selected as the All-Star coach for the 2010 Disney Soccer Showcase All-Star Team which will travel to England in August, 2010. Named to the All-Star team from Solar were Murphy Short and Chandler Crosswait.

Solar ’95 Red Boys defeated CASL ’94 Elite 2-0 to win the championship in Final A in the age group. Solar ’93 Boys made it to the finals in the Predator flight for Final C but fell to Triangle Futball Club from North Carolina. In the quarterfinal B bracket, the Solar U-16 Academy PDA team lost to the Alfreada Ambush.

Also competing in the tournament were the Solar U-18 Academy PDA team, Solar ’94 Red Boys and Solar ’93 Red Boys. Well done to all the Solar teams in the Disney Soccer Showcase --- Boys.
