In contributing major roles for their respective universities, three Solar alums will be competing in the 2009 Men’s College Cup Finals. All three players were members of the national championship Solar ’89 team. Hunter Jumper plays in the defense for the University of Virginia Cavaliers. Cameron Brown contributes to the success of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels as a midfielder. Corben Bone, 2009 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, again leads the Wake Forest University Demon Deacons with assists. Congratulations to all three players and to their universities. 

 

            The 2009 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament opened with former Solar players being represented on the rosters of eleven different universities. Since the Solar ’83 team graduated, Solar players have begun their collegiate careers at more than sixty different universities’ men’s soccer programs. Congratulations to all the players on the universities which made the 2009 NCAA Men’s Tournament. Follow the remaining three players from Solar in the College Cup finals which will be broadcast on Friday and Sunday from Cary, North Carolina.
