Derek Missimo was a multiple time All-America honoree representing the US National Youth Team in the U17 Junior World Cup in China, Mexico, Canada, Soviet Union, and in the Trinidad & Tobago CONCACAF qualification for the under-20 World Cup in Chile.  As a striker for the University of North Carolina, he received several individual and teams honors.  He was the MVP in the inaugural Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, member of UNC’s first men’s Final Four Team, and Captain of the 1990 NCAA Tournament Team.  Derek led his team in scoring all four years and the ACC in scoring three times.  He is Carolina’s all-time leading scorer and is in the top 10 in goals and points in the history of the ACC.  He holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and a Masters with Honors from Texas Christian University.
